Family Traditions: 7HO8165
England-Ammon Million
As
the 2005 International Cow of the Breed and first runner-up of the Queen of the
Breed II contest, Snow-N Denises Dellia has solidified her place as one of the
top brood cows in Holstein history. Many of her accolades have resulted from
the performance of her 31 Excellent and 47 Very Good offspring. Numerous bulls
from this family have gone to A.I. studs and sired exceptional daughters,
including 7HO5157 DURHAM and 7HO6758 MR SAM. With the August 2008 genetic
evaluations, WWS graduates another exciting member of this family, 7HO8165
England-Ammon MILLION.
MILLION,
an Outside x BW Marshall, debuts at +1905 TPI, placing him among the top 15 in
the breed. He excels in all areas- conformation, production and management
traits.
This
elite type sire is +3.04 PTAT with +2.86 UDC and +1.68 FLC. "Million daughters
are average in stature with ideal dairy strength, very correct feet & legs
and his best trait of all is the udder," notes Select Sires sire analyst
Charlie Will. "Million will sire shallow udders with exceptional shape and
symmetry, welded on fore udders and really high and wide rear udder attachments
with excellent teat size and placement."
MILLION will
sire fertile cows that remain in the herd, at +4.0 PL and +.05 DPR. Unlike
other Outside sons, he is a calving ease sire at 7% CE. With 101 daughters, he
is +1,403 Milk with favorable components.
His dam, Regancrest-HHH
Maya (VG-85) is a full sister to Regancrest-HHF Mac-ET (+1895 TPI and +3.78
UDC). She produced over 24,000 pounds of milk with 4.0% fat in her first
lactation. His grandam is Regancrest Rudolph Dena (VG-89), a maternal sister
to DURHAM, and the third dam is the world-renowned Dellia.
Select Sires has
already started using Million as a mating sire for sons and with his elite,
all-around proof figures, he is the "complete package" for dairy producers
worldwide.
